NASSAU, Bahamas –Multitalented Shine 242 (Lavardo Sands), formerly of the Roal Bahamas Defence Force, has joined the United Artists Bahamas Union (UABU) and was recently sworn in to the organization by the UABU President Anita Ellis Tynes, UABU’s Public Relations Director Linc Scavella revealed in a post on Facebook on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
“Shine 242 has been appointed to spearhead the youth arm of UABU which will be a conduit of the up and coming artists, who will soon join the new union’s mission to fix the wrongs in the music and entertainment industries,” Mr. Scavella said.
Noting that UABU is an affiliate of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas Trade Union Congress (CBTUC), Mr. Scavella added, “During his swearing in and official appointment, UABU President Anita Ellis-Tynes advised Shine 242 that the senior officers of the organization are doing the necessary ground work to set up the organization for the younger musicians and entertainers to operate in the best interest of the music and entertainment industries.”
Shine 242 assured the union’s president that he was willing and ready to take on the challenges of his newly appointed role.
Mr. Scavella welcomed and congratulated “our new member and Youth Chairman, Shine 242.”
