UB NORTHERN CAMPUS HOSTS “PINNING CEREMONY” FOR NURSING AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Tina Dean, Nursing Bachelor of Science graduate of the University of the Bahamas Nursing and Allied Health Professions program, delivered the response on behalf the class during the pinning ceremony.

FREEPORT, Grand Bahama — The University of the Bahamas Northern Campus hosted its Inaugural Pinning Ceremony for Nursing and Allied Health Professions on Friday May 24th at the Community at Heart Tabernacle on Coral Road.

PHA Senior Nursing Officer Yvonne Clarke served as the keynote speaker and offered encouraging words to the 20 nursing professionals, who were surrounded by family, friends and supporters as they officially began their careers as trained clinical nurses.

Dr. Ian Strachan, vice president of the University of the Bahamas Northern Campus, brought welcoming remarks. Dr. Carlton Watson, Dean, Faculty Pure and Applied Sciences, also delivered remarks, and Tina Dean, Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate, delivered the response on behalf the graduating class.

The nursing program began in January 2017 under the former administration by then Minister for Grand Bahama Dr. Michael Darville. Training for the program took place at BTVI, The Rand Memorial Hospital and The University of the Bahamas Northern Campus.
