NEW YORK — For Bahamians living in the New York area, the body of Maria Elizabeth Elliott-Forbes, the noted Bahamian educator who died in New York on August 21, 2019, can be viewed at Sealy Cuyler Funeral Home, 1084 Pacific Street, Brooklyn, on Tuesday, September 3, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Roman Catholic Church on Deveaux Street, Nassau, and interment will be at Western Cemetery. Originally from Stanyard Creek, Andros, Mrs. Elliott-Forbes had been living in Brooklyn with her niece Norma Elliott for the past several years when she died. The late Mrs. Elliott-Forbes is pictured above in a recent photo with her Niece Norma and grandnephew Devereaux King, a seminarian at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Indiana.
