FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – As Grand Bahama continues to “bounce back” from the devastation caused to the island by Category 5 Hurricane Dorian, there are some individuals who are making a worthwhile contribution to restore some semblance of normalcy to the entrepreneurial lifestyle in Grand Bahama before Dorian rampage across the island the first week of September 2019.
One such individual is Deborah Pratt, President of DAPS Corporate Training and Business Services, who hosted “Stepping into 2020 with a Purpose and Plan” at Pelican Bay Hotel in Freeport on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Mrs. Pratt is a Certified Corporate Trainer, Motivational Speaker and Writer, and “Stepping into 2020 with a Purpose and Plan” was billed as a Women’s Empowerment Event.
“In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, I conceived the idea to host a women’s empowerment event to encourage women to make 2020 their best year yet by discovering their purpose, designing a plan, developing prosperity and devoting to prayer,” said Mrs. Pratt.
The event turned out to be a tremendous success. It was attended by 54 women, many of whom shared via social media that they enjoyed and were greatly impacted by the event and feeling empowered to face 2020.
Mrs. Pratt expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all who helped to make the event a success.
“I am eternally grateful to my awesome team, including Moderator Allison Levarity, who did a fantastic job,” Pratt said. “She is certainly ‘the Hostess with the Mostess.’ Speakers Karen Dames, Wendy Huyler and Caline Newton were all dynamic, in sharing powerful nuggets and much food for thought with the ladies. Thank you to all of the amazing ladies that attended this event for your great participation and reception of each speaker.”
Pratt also expressed “special thanks to the sponsors of gifts for the gift bags and giveaways at the event,” including Aliv, Renu Day Spa, Colombian Emeralds, Signature Choices, Chocolatess Island Delights, Mrs. Deborah Archer (In memory of the late mother, Lady Laurie Miller), and Caline Newton, “Live Life Free.”
Pratt expressed special thanks to Mrs. Yasmin Popescu of Media Unlimited Bahamas for her gift of Videography and Photography, covering the event for her news page Flipping Grand Bahama.”
“Lastly, thanks to my wonderful family, who all pitched in to make this event a success,” Pratt said.
