WASHINGTON, D.C., June 3, 2024 – Declaring that she “is feeling joyful with Agatha DeLancy and Alicia Gibson at Fourteen Clubs Golf Academy,” First Lady Ann Marie Davis today posted a collection of photos on Facebook that were  taken at the Flamingoes Women’s Golf Club Inaugural tournament at the Sports Centre in Nassau, Bahamas. I absolutely had to share some of them with readers of my Washington, D.C. – based online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

The First Lady posted the photos with the following narrative:

Direct put in the hole. It’s here – A women’s golf club, “The Flamingoes” at the inaugural women’s golf tournament at The Sports Centre Golf Academy built by Mr. Craig Flowers. You don’t have to be wealthy to play golf. Play right here at the Sports Centre.

This sport is highly recommended for women. IT ENHANCES MENTAL HEALTH AND MENTAL ALERTNESS. It is an experience in pure peace of mind, resilience, nothing bothers you when you’re on that open field, fresh beautiful green, the beautiful lake, concentrating on aiming at the holes, feeling the breeze, green life around you, friendship building. Wonderful activity for body and mind.

And- you don’t have to be wealthy to play. You can play at the Sports Centre Golf Academy, thanks to Mr. Craig Flowers. A 9-hole course. Highly Academy.  recommended therapy for girls and women.

Congratulations to “The Flamingoes” on their inaugural tournament. I had a ball.

Minister Bowleg was impressed. He’s looking for more women golf clubs. I agree.
