NASSAU, Bahamas — A $5.5 million investment in South Andros by the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) will mean 1,200 residents will have potable water as soon as June, WSC Executive Chairman Adrian Gibson said yesterday, the Nassau Guardian reported January 8.

According to Gibson, who spoke about the project during a press conference at Deep Creek, Andros, 30 miles of water mains will connect more than 600 structures in South Andros.

He explained that a new reverse osmosis plant will be built by BHM Limited in Kemp’s Bay. The company received the contract several months ago.

The South Andros project is part of multi-island water supply improvement project being financed by the Caribbean Development Bank to the tune of $28.3 million.

The South Andros project requires WSC to install two submarine lines at Deep Creek bridge and Little Creek bridge in order to supply the most southerly populations on Andros. https://thenassauguardian.com/2019/01/08/wsc-outlines-5-5-mil-south-andros-water-supply-project/
