NASSAU, Bahamas — His Excellency Felix Nicholas Mfula, Envoy of the Government of the Republic of Zambia, on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 presented his Letters of Commission to Her Excellency, the Most Honourable Dame Marguerite Pindling, ON, GCMG, Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, accrediting him as High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

Prior to that presentation, High Commissioner Mfula called on the Honourable Darren Henfield, MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to present his Copie d’Usage. In that call, the two dignitaries exchanged greetings and discussed matters of mutual interest, including the commonalities of the environment and people of both countries and also matters related to global economic conditions. With respect to the latter point, given that Zambia was spared the impact of global crisis, the discussion included the possibility of exchanges between Central Banks to look at Zambia’s resilient mechanism.

The meeting reaffirmed the cordial relations between the two countries. Mr.  Mfula is Zambia’s High Commissioner to Canada, and  Minister Henfield recommended that he maintain close relations with His Excellency Alvin Smith, The Bahamas High Commissioner to Canada, to advance interests.
