WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 13, 2022 — During the final segment on Immediate Response on ZNS Radio and Television today, the show’s host Spence Finlayson was joined by Andrew J Burrows , ZNS General Manager, and  according to a post on Facbook they “discussed the upcoming 45th Anniversary of Television.”

Since his return to the Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas (BCB) in November of 2021 as General Manager —  which includes ZNS-TV and Radio Stations  — Andrew  is doing an excellent job, but that does not come as a surprise to me because I am familiar with his strong work ethic. Andrew is also an accomplished writer,  and I have always enjoyed reading his incisive commentaries.

However, because Andrew historically has had strong political ties to the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) — which won the September 16 general election last year by a landslide, to return as the Government of The government of The Bahamas — he was viciously victimized by the Management Team at the BCB under the former Free National Government (FNM) government.  Nonetheless, after being “forced out” of ZNS, he did a  remarkable job at the Ministry where he was seconded, and it was actually predictabe that he would return to the BCB in a management capacity, given his extensive expertise in broadcasting.

I fully expected that on his return to ZNS, Andrew  would “seek revenge” against those persons “in high places” who had made his continued employment at ZNS under the FNM government “a living hell.” From all accounts, however, he apparently is concentrating on being a good General Manager of the BCB and has left any retribution those former decision-makers at BCB under the FNM deserve to a Higher Power.

In Washington, D.C., I often have difficulty finding the link to “Immediate Response”, so  when I saw a photo on Facebook noting that Andrew was one of the guests of the show  today, I contacted the show’s host, fellow Androsian Spence Finlayson, and requested a link to the broadcast. I have not yet rceived it, but I am sure this is an oversight because Spence has always responded to my requests for links to his shows like a true Androsian brother.
