WASHINGTON, D.C. — His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the organization of American States (OAS), met with His Excellency Josué Fiallo, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of The Dominican Republic, on Tuesday, August 3, to discuss matters related to the Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs (CAJP) of the OAS.
Ambassador Fiallo is the current Chair of the CAJP and Ambassador Collie serves as Vice Chair of the committee.
According to the Rules of Procedure of the Permanent Council of the OAS:
“The Committee on Juridical and Political Affairs shall consider the reports of the Inter-American Juridical Committee, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights referred to in Article 91.f of the Charter. It shall also submit their reports, with observations, recommendations, and accompanying draft resolutions, to the Permanent Council.”
