NASSAU, Bahamas, April 25, 2024 – The 2024 Aquinas College World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Team that recently competed in the WSC Nassau Regional Round and qualified for the WSC Global Round is now preparing to travel to Sweden in July to participate in the Stockholm Global Round that will be held in Stockholm from July 12-17, 2024.

This was announced by Catholic Schools Bahamas in the narrative that accompanied three photos of team members posted on Facebook today.

“The World Scholar’s Cup is a global academic program with a mission of inclusive enrichment for students of all backgrounds,” the post noted. “On the surface it is an academic tournament, but it is better described as a celebration of learning and global citizenship.”

According to Wikipedia, the multilingual online encyclopedia, The World Scholar’s Cup is an annual international academic program, in which “more than 15,000 students from over 65 countries participate every year.”

“The program was founded by DemiDec, in particular by Daniel Berdichevsky, in early 2006,” Wikipedia notes. “The first WSC took place in South Korea in 2007 at the Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies. The World Scholar’s Cup aims to teach students with interesting, not-taught-in-schools lessons, and finding common ground between people of different backgrounds.”
