WASHINGTON, D.C., April 15, 2024 — While in Washington, D.C today, participating in the Organization of American States (OAS) protocolary meeting, the Hon. Fred Mitchell, Bahamas Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Ms. Kimberly R. Furnish, the newly appointed U.S Chargé d’Affaires for the U.S. Embassy in Nassau, Bahamas. During the meeting, they discussed several issues of mutual interest.

Ms. Furnish, who is expected to assume her duties in June 2024, replaces Ms. Usha Pitts, who had been U.S Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy since New Year’s Day, 2021.

His Excellency Chet D. Neymour, Bahamas Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the OAS, is the current Chairman of the Permanent Council of the OAS.
