BAHAMIAN EDUCATORS ATTEND CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 26, 2024 — Over 200 educators from across The Bahamas were in Washington, D.C. this past week to attend the 2024 Conference of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from March 22 -24.

The conference is an annual event that brings together educators, administrators, and other stakeholders in the field of education. It typically features keynote speakers, workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities focused on various aspects of teaching, learning, leadership, and curriculum development.

The purpose of the conference is to provide professional development, share best practices, and foster collaboration among educators to improve student outcomes and enhance the quality of education.

Bahamian  educators who participated in the conference were from Grand Bahama in the North to Inagua in the South and  hold posts ranging from Assistant Director of Education to support staff. This year, the Bahamas received honourable mention as the largest delegation outside of the US and more than many States within the USA.

Attendees explored the latest trends, research, and innovations in education to enhance their practice and support student success.

As a collective organization, we’ve expanded our ability to serve educators throughout their careers, and are setting a course to design the future of education by preparing educators in effective pedagogy practices supported by technology.”
