FIRST D.C. STATEHOOD HEARING IN 25 YEARS SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK

 A former professor at Georgetown University Law Center, Eleanor Holmes Norton has representative the District of Columbia in Congress from 1991.

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 16, 2019 — The first House of Representative hearing on D.C. statehood in over 25 years is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, at 10:00 a.m. in the  Rayburn House Office Building (Rayburn 2154) on  Capitol Hill, between South Capitol Street and First Street.

“Testifying before the House Oversight and Reform Committee will be Mayor Muriel Bowser, Council Chair Phil Mendelson, D.C. CFO Jeffrey DeWitt, Congressional Research Service Attorney Kenneth Thomas, and D.C. veteran Kerwin Miller,” according to a reminder published in D.C.
