GBPA BUILDING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TEAM HOSTS CONTRACTOR’S WORKSHOP

The Grand Bahama Port Authority posted these photos that we have decided to share with readers of Bahamas Chronicle which has a huge following across the Bahamas diaspora, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. The GBPA shared these photos here on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 with the following information:

Last week, our Building & Development Services team hosted the first Contractor’s Workshop for the year, bringing together local contractors and industry professionals for a truly valuable and engaging learning experience.

Under the theme “Know Your Lines: Surveying & Plat Recording,” attendees gained practical, real-world insights into accurately measuring and officially documenting land—critical steps that help keep projects compliant, efficient, and on track from start to finish.

The session featured informative presentations from our GIS and Town Planning teams, along with veteran licensed Land Surveyor, Richard Hinds, whose expertise added depth and practical perspective to the discussions.

Equally important, this workshop served as a reminder of the value of knowledge-sharing within the industry, especially for the next generation of contractors and construction professionals. Opportunities like these, offered at no cost, provide access to essential skills, guidance, and best practices that can significantly shape careers and elevate the standard of work across the sector. We strongly encourage emerging professionals to take full advantage of these sessions as they build their foundation and grow within the industry.

Stay tuned to our social media pages for updates on upcoming workshops.
