MINISTER OF TRANSPORT VISITS GRAND BAHAMA

We decided to share this article with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. Ministry of Transport Bahamas posted this collection of photos with the accompanying narrative on Monday, October 19, 2026.

The Honourable Leon Lundy, Minister of Transport, visited Grand Bahama last week, as part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to strengthen operations, engage stakeholders, and improve service delivery throughout The Bahamas.

During the visit, Minister Lundy met with new Marine Pilots who have trained globally and now returned to Grand Bahama to work with Buckeye Bahamas Hub.

The Minister also met with newly appointed staff at the Road Traffic Department and conducted site visits to the Port Department in East End and the Main Post Office in Freeport.

These engagements provided opportunities to connect with stakeholders and frontline teams, gain insight into operational needs, and explore opportunities for collaboration and improved public services.
