NASSAU, Bahamas, August 3, 2023 –Government officials, led by Prime Minister the Hon. Philip E. Davis, viewed the body of the late Rev. Dr. Lloyd C. Smith at the William Thompson Auditorium on Thursday, August 3.
The Cabinet Office announced on Wednesday that a state-recognized funeral for the late President of the National Baptist Convention, who died at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Saturday, July 22, at the age of 74, will be held on Friday, August 4, at Mount Horeb Baptist Church, Sandyport, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens and Mausoleums, J.F. Kennedy Drive.
The funeral service will be broadcast live on the ZNS Radio Network from Mount Horeb Baptist Church, where Dr. Smith served as senior pastor for 21 years
Dr. Smith is survived by his wife, Minister Linda Smith, four children, one brother, three sisters, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
