SALUTING OUR 2023 STUDENT OF THE YEAR JERLEA ADDERLEY, 2023 WORLD SCHOLARS CUP CHAMPION

Jerlea Adderley was commended for her outstanding performance by Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper (right) and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fred Mitchell. A reception was held at Bahamas House for the scholars participating in the World Scholars Cup Competition in London.

The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation would like to congratulate our 2022 Student of the Year Jerlea Adderley who recently participated in the World Scholars Cup in London.

Jerlea who recently completed Grade 7 was the youngest member of Aquinas College’s World Scholars Cup Team.

She was reassigned to a Hybrid team consisting of two students from Dwight School New York. Their team won all 3 impromptu debates.

Jerlea won the following awards:

  1. Individual Gold – Scholar’s Bowl
  2. Team Gold – Scholar’s Bowl
  3. Team Gold – Cria Top Jr. Debate Team 3rd place overall
  4. Team Gold – Jr. Debate 9th out of 81 teams
  5. Individual Silver – Jr. Debate Champion
  6. Individual Silver – Writing Champion
  7. Team Silver – Team Writing Champions

8.Team Silver – Top Qualifiers for Tournament of Champions to be held at Yale University in November 2023.

We are extremely proud of Jerlea and her accomplishments.
