SENATE PRESIDENT ADDRESSES THE IBWPPI’S 10TH ANNUAL POLICY FORUM

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator the Hon. Katherine (Kay) Forbes Smith, President of the Senate of  The Bahamas,  addressed the 10th Annual Policy Forum hosted by The International Black Women’s Public Policy Institute (IBWPPI) at The Washington Convention Center on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

Senator Forbes Smith was one of several black women from the highest levels of policymaking chosen to share their views on developing a global platform and the critical issues that connect women.

Prior to Thursday’s forum, Senator Forbes Smith and His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative  to the Organization of American States (OAS), attended the IBWPPI’s 10th Anniversary Gala and Awards Reception at The Embassy of The Republic of Haiti on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. The theme for the event was “Celebrating a Decade of Sustainable Bridge Building”.
