WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 16, 2023 — MP for Central & South Eleuthera Clay Sweeting, Minister of Works and Family Island Affairs, posted a collection of photos on Facebook on Friday, September 15, documenting an “amazing experience” he had accompanying “our Prime Minister Hon. Phillip Davis and former Prime Minister Hon. Hubert Ingraham while our country hosted President Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana during his visit to the beautiful islands of the Exumas.”

On the heels of the recent memorandum of understanding between The Bahamas and Botswana, Mr. Sweeting noted that the “beautiful weather and captivating seas laid the perfect backdrop for amazing conversation and camaraderie.”

“President Masisi credits his most memorable moment as his experience of meeting the amazing Swimming Pigs of Exuma,” Mr. Sweeting wrote in his post.

He added, “Our country continues to be the jewel of the Caribbean and the Davis administration is committed to fostering new opportunities and partnerships with our global partners. I could not agree more that showcasing the incomparable beauty of our Family Islands is the perfect setting.”

I absolutely had to share this wonderful post with readers of my online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.
