In honor of the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, we’re highlighting LCF Alumni Scholar Amber Turner and her continued commitment to climate action and environmental stewardship.
Amber currently serves as a 2026 Italy Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) Fellow for The Bahamas, contributing to work that is especially important for Small Island Developing States like ours, where environmental protection and strong climate policy are critical to building a more resilient future.
Reflecting on the role Lyford Cay Foundations has played in her journey, Amber shares:“Receiving a Lyford Cay Foundations scholarship was a pivotal moment in my academic and professional development. It was through the Foundation’s support that I was able to pursue my graduate studies, and the exposure I gained during that time has continued to open doors, directly shaping the opportunities I am fortunate to pursue today. Their investment strengthened my commitment to advancing climate policies and environmental stewardship in The Bahamas and remains foundational to the work I do now.”
