We decided to share this article with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. The Grand Bahama Port Authority shared this collection of photos with the accompanying narrative on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

The Grand Bahama Port Authority was pleased to welcome U.S. Ambassador Herschel Walker for a courtesy call and productive discussions with members of our executive team.
The meeting highlighted Freeport’s unique competitive advantages as a premier investment destination, including its Free Trade Zone benefits, world-class infrastructure, and strategic geographic location. Discussions also focused on opportunities to attract additional U.S. investment and business activity to Grand Bahama, while showcasing the ease of doing business in Freeport and GBPA’s role in supporting investors from initial inquiry through project implementation.

Both parties emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to advance investment opportunities that create jobs, stimulate economic activity, and support long-term growth for Grand Bahama and The Bahamas.
The discussion also reinforced Freeport’s position as a leading hub for logistics, aviation, maritime services, manufacturing, and other high-growth sectors.
We appreciate Ambassador Walker’s visit and look forward to strengthening relationships that help drive investment and economic development in Grand Bahama.
