GBPA COMMITTED TO ENCOURAGING INNOVATION AND CREATING PATHWAYS FOR BAHAMIAN ENTREPRENEURS TO THRIVE

We decided to share this article with readers of BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. The Grand Bahama Port Authority shared this collection of photos with the accompanying narrative.

Through the Invest Grand Bahama Small Business Bureau’s Crafters Academy, local artisans are gaining the skills, confidence, and business knowledge needed to transform their creativity into sustainable enterprises.

Our latest workshop, “Block n’ Roll,” equipped entrepreneurs with hands-on fabric printing techniques to create authentic, high-quality Bahamian products for both residents and the growing visitor market. From canvas tote bags to custom textiles, participants learned how to elevate their craftsmanship while preserving the cultural identity that makes Bahamian products unique.

As Grand Bahama prepares to welcome millions of visitors in the coming years, initiatives like Crafters Academy ensure that our local artisans and MSMEs are ready to seize new opportunities, grow their businesses, and contribute to a stronger, more resilient economy.

At GBPA, we’re committed to encouraging innovation and creating pathways for Bahamian entrepreneurs to thrive.
