GBIPB to host one-night partnership event in November with the Xquisite Catamaran Center and The Galley Bar & Restaurant ahead of expanded 2027 festival return
FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA – The Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board (GBIPB) has announced that the fifth annual Grand Bahama Island Restaurant Fest (GBIRF), originally slated for 2026, will now take place in 2027.
While the full slate of Restaurant Fest activities traditionally held in August will not take place in 2026, the GBIPB will host a special one-night-only culinary event in November. The event will be presented in partnership with the Xquisite Catamaran Center and The Galley Bar & Restaurant, bringing together some of Grand Bahama’s top culinary talent for an evening celebrating the island’s vibrant food scene. It will also serve as the official platform for unveiling several new initiatives, strategic partnerships, and enhancements planned for the return of GBIRF in 2027.
Since its launch, GBIRF has grown into one of Grand Bahama’s signature culinary events, celebrating the island’s chefs, restaurants, mixologists, farmers and fishermen while showcasing the unique flavours and hospitality that define Grand Bahama Island.
As Grand Bahama continues to experience a period of significant growth and transformation, marked by announcements of major investments and new developments, the GBIPB and the GBIRF Committee have made the strategic decision to postpone the full festival experience by one year. This decision will allow the committee to align a number of new partnerships, initiatives, and opportunities currently being developed to further elevate the festival and strengthen its long-term impact on the island’s tourism and culinary sectors.
“Grand Bahama is entering an exciting new chapter,” said Ian Rolle, Chairman of the Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board. “With so many positive developments taking place across the island, we believe this is the right time to take a thoughtful approach and ensure that the next edition of Restaurant Fest reflects the scale of the opportunities before us. Our goal is to create an even more impactful experience for residents, visitors, chefs, restaurants, and industry partners.”
Additional details regarding the November event will be announced in the coming months. The GBIPB remains committed to supporting and promoting Grand Bahama’s tourism, hospitality, and culinary sectors and looks forward to sharing more information about the future of GBIRF.
