BAHAMAS CHRONICLE EDITOR’S NOTE: His Excellency Jamaal Rolle posted a collection of photos on Facebook and I absolutely to share them and the accompanying narrative with readers of my Washington, D.C. – based online publication, BAHAMAS CHRONICLE, which has a huge following among the Bahamian diaspora across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as well as in The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.

PARIS, France – His Excellency Jamaal Rolle, Bahamas Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), on Thursday, March 21, 2024, presented his credentials to UNESCO Director-General Ms. Audrey Azoulay.

In the narrative that accompanied a group of photos posted on Facebook, Mr. Rolle said, “An unforgettable day unfolded as I presented my credentials to UNESCO Director Ms. Audrey Azoulay, in my capacity as Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas to UNESCO. The ceremony, which took place at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, France, served as a platform for Ms. Azoulay and me to explore various avenues through which The Bahamas can contribute globally to education, science, and culture. This discussion also highlighted The Bahamas’ commitment to fostering international collaboration. I am excited for the journey that lies ahead.” (Photo credit Christelle Alix/UNESCO @followers suit: Fine Threads)

Fittingly, as a renowned artist, Mr. Rolle visited the Louvre Museum, where Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Mona Lisa painting is on display, and he is seen admiring the photo in another post that was accompanied by the following narrative: “From humble beginnings, where every brush stroke was a step toward my dreams, to the revered corridors of Paris, I stand before the Mona Lisa. It’s a moment of reflection—not just on art’s enduring beauty but on how perseverance can turn the canvas of our lives into a masterpiece.”
