WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mrs. Katherine Dueholm, newly appointed Director of the Office of Caribbean Affairs at the United States State Department, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Embassy of The Bahamas, 2220 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W.

During the meeting, Ambassador Collie and Mrs. Dueholm discussed the long-standing relationship between The Bahamas and the United States, and the mutual ways through which the relationship can be strengthened.

Mrs. Dueholm joined the State Department in 1994, with an assignment in Georgetown, Guyana, where she was also responsible for liaising with CARICOM. Before returning to the region to serve as the Director for Caribbean Affairs, she worked as Director for Regional Affairs in the Department of State’s Legislative Affairs Bureau. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Timor-Leste, and served at other overseas assignments, including Botswana, Germany, and Brazil.
