RBPF OFFICER ATTENDS LEADERSHIP SUMMIT AT FBI ACADEMY IN QUANTICO, VIRGINIA

His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), was at Reagan National Airport to bid farewell to Assistant Commissioner Kendal Strachan following his participation in a FBINAA Chapter Leadership Summit at Quantico, Virginia.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Assistant Commissioner of Police Kendal Strachan of the Royal Bahamas Police Force was among the participants in a Leadership Summit hosted by the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, March 10-14, 2019.

His Excellency Sidney Collie, Bahamas Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States (OAS), was at Reagan National Airport to bid farewell to Assistant Commissioner Strachan prior his return to The Bahamas on Thursday, March 14.

According to the FBINAA website, “For more than seven decades, the FBI has stationed special agents and other personnel overseas to help protect Americans back home by building relationships with principal law enforcement, intelligence, and security services around the globe that help ensure a prompt and continuous exchange of information.

“Today, we have 63 legal attaché offices—commonly known as legats—and more than two dozen smaller sub-offices in key cities around the globe, providing coverage for more than 180 countries, territories, and islands. Each office is established through mutual agreement with the host country and is situated in the U.S. embassy or consulate in that nation.”

Assistant Commissioner Strachan participated in the summit as an NAA Chapter Officer of the FBI Legat in Bridgetown, Barbados, which represents 28 Latin American/Caribbean Nations.

“Our legal attaché program is managed by the International Operations Division at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.,” the FBINAA website notes. “This office keeps in close contact with other federal agencies, Interpol, foreign police and security officers in Washington, and national and international law enforcement associations. International liaison and information sharing are conducted in accordance with executive orders, laws, treaties, Attorney General Guidelines, FBI policies, and interagency agreements.”

On its Facebook page announcing the dates for the Summit, FBINAA noted, “The FBINAA Chapter Leadership Summit is March 10-14, 2019. We look forward to welcoming leadership from our 48 global chapters to Quantico for discussions that will shape the future of the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc.”
